What is one part of Vermont’s economy or cost of living that needs greater attention from elected officials?: “Healthcare costs. With so many Vermonters finding healthcare coverage unaffordable, many are going without insurance or are under insured. As a result Vermonters will get sicker. With more and more folks uninsured there is increasing financial pressure on our hospitals and health care system, leading to a situation of unsustainability in our healthcare system.”
“Yes we do need to look at school consolidation, but the decision needs to come from the local communities as to how to consolidate. Consolidation of districts will look different in every part of the state and we need to acknowledge one size doesn't fit everyone.”
“The overall quality of our public education is high, but we still need to improve by looking at student outcomes. And that differs across the state.”
