Immigration: How would you modernize our immigration system?
It's needs to be easier to come here legally. The current system is broken. I believe in an Ellis Island-style immigration system where people arrive, identify themselves, get checked for criminal history, and then are welcomed into our country to work and make better lives. Immigrants are good for the economy and commit fewer crimes than citizens. Stop mass arrests, internment, and deportations.
Healthcare: What specific steps would you take to make healthcare more affordable for American families?
We need less government in healthcare, since that involvement drives up costs. Obamacare should be repealed. Insurance companies should be able to offer different types of policies, like catastrophic care. Consumers should be able to buy drugs from other countries. Open up medical training to more students to become doctors to allow more competition. Less red tape and regulation is needed.
Cost of living
We can't afford the massive cost of government at all levels. The federal deficit and national debt lead to inflation, so we must cut government spending. Congress must take action to end all Trump tariffs, which are paid by consumers. Cutting income taxes and property taxes would help as well.
Jobs & small business
I strongly support small business and entrepreneurship. It should be easy to start a business without a bunch of licenses and permits. Stop arresting and deporting the employees of small businesses. Cut taxes and regulations on businesses.
Biggest challenge for Texas
The challenge is to be able to thrive without having to worry about Christian nationalists telling people how to live their personal lives, and economic busybodies interfering in private business. We have to reject culture wars and concentrate on advancing our state. Texas has incredible potential.
Balance of Power: What specific actions would you take to protect the Constitution's system of checks and balances?
Congress needs to re-assert their constitutional role as the legislative branch. I oppose presidents governing by executive order, since this violates the Constitution. Executive orders should need congressional approval to go into effect. Congress has abdicated their warmaking powers, and presidents ignore any oversight. Congress must cut off war funding to rein in the President.
Voting Rights: What voting rights legislation would you support to ensure voters’ ability to participate in our democratic processes?
Voter choice is limited by laws that make it hard for alternative party candidates to run for office. I would make it easier to run. It should be easier to vote, both in person or by mail. I reject Republican voter fraud paranoia and see no evidence that ineligible people have been voting. I oppose the SAVE Act, since there's no reason to make it hard for people to register to vote.
Top priorities
I support personal freedom, economic freedom, digital privacy, and am anti-war and anti-foreign military intervention. I will only vote for laws that are constitutional and promote liberty. I want the U. S. to withdraw from the Middle East. I'm not beholden to any special interest groups.
Artificial Intelligence: Would you regulate Artificial Intelligence (AI)? If so, how?
The most important consideration is digital privacy. I'm opposed to requiring ID to use the internet and opposed to digital ID, CBDC, and surveillance cameras recording our every move. I would limit how government uses AI to create profiles on each person. I believe parents should use parental controls to protect their kids and not expect government to do so. AI political ads should be labeled.
Disaster aid
There's no guarantee when you're dependent on the federal government. I would probably trust the state to provide aid ahead of the feds, especially under the current administration. Private relief organizations are even better if they can avoid red tape.
