We'll also take gas fueling stations and gas-fired heat and power plants off the state's certified green energy list, including existing certifications, so that neither gets tax breaks reserved for clean energy.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

My policy passion is Climate Action for one reason: every day we choose not to respond to our changing climate, we make every other issue more difficult to contend with. The reality is that we can solve our common issues and make climate progress at the same time. Specifically, I will use my position to push for the creation of the Tennessee Green Bank and the Tennessee Renewable Power Authority. Together they provide the tools for homes, businesses, and communities to save money, generate revenue, and do it sustainably. Our children, and our children's children, deserve a livable world.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

The primary message of my campaign is that we all share this state and the experience of issues like weakening public schools and hospital systems, that the solutions exist, and that all we lack is the political will to implement them. I'm running as an Independent, endorsed by The Green Party of Tennessee, because I believe it's time we build pragmatic politics beyond the two-party system to represent us. That's why my platform, The Volunteer Plan, is built on policies that already draw at least 50% support from Democrats and Republicans and Independents, and in many cases more than 80%.
