Where Tandon stands

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I'm passionate about jobs and innovation. Silicon Valley should lead the world in AI and technology, and that leadership should create good-paying jobs for working families, not just a few. I will support small businesses, STEM and career training, and policies that keep innovation and manufacturing here at home. As an immigrant, I'm also passionate about secure and fair immigration: enforcing the law, fixing a broken system, and supporting legal immigration that honors the hard work of immigrants who strengthen our communities. And I care deeply about civil liberties; my 5-4 U.S.

What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade?

Affordability, AI, and the erosion of trust in our institutions. If working families can't afford to live in the country they helped build, and if people stop believing democracy works for them, nothing else we fix will hold. The next decade is about proving government can still deliver.

Families & communities

Over two decades ago, I immigrated to this country as a student searching for the American Dream. I found it here, in the heart of our Bay Area. I believe this community is the greatest in our nation, and it angers me to see the Washington, D.C., elite ignore our values of strong family devotion and hard work. It will be my top priority to represent you, not entrenched party bosses.

Families & communities

I am running for Congress because I am grateful for all this community has given me, and I want to serve you. Let’s work together, reject partisan politics, and find common-sense solutions to ease the burden on all Bay Area families.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

More housing, lower costs, and lower taxes. Families in CA-17 are working harder than ever and still falling behind. Rents, mortgages, groceries, childcare, and gas take more of every paycheck, and too many young people and seniors are being priced out. I will fight to build more homes by cutting the red tape and delays that drive up construction costs. I will also work to lower taxes so families and small businesses keep more of what they earn, and to cut wasteful spending that fuels inflation. Affordability is not a partisan issue.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

AFFORDABILITY FOR EVERY FAMILY. CA-17 families are squeezed by rent, gas, groceries, and healthcare. My plan: lower everyday living costs with middle-class relief, real market competition, and cracking down on hidden fees. Make housing affordable — federal incentives for new supply and first-time homebuyer support. Lower healthcare and Rx costs through price transparency and preventive care. Stop tax-and-fee overload — oppose CA's wealth tax and mileage tax. Cut waste, fraud, and bureaucracy — an estimated $1T per year.
